Tristar Gymnastics

This week, on Wednesday the 5th of December, we went to Tristar. We were suppose to go the day before but because of the rain we couldn't go. So we went the day after that, but it was different because 2 classes walked to together to Keith hay park. It was kinda tiring to me but luckily we had hats to protect our head. The reasons why it was a hard walk is first of all, the walk was really long, I think it was 15 minutes. Second of all, it was really hot and sunny and I had warm clothes on, and even hats still made hot!. It was then all worth it. Gymnastics was SUPER fun but also SUPER exhausting.

First of all , we stretched. Some of the moves were the L shape and the straddle.  There was another move called the Tuck shape and it was

my favourite. All we had to do was to tuck our legs and sit on our bottom without the legs touching the ground. After we stretched we
went in our class groups and went to a teacher. My first teacher showed us the course. We were split into groups and had to go to a different course. I started at the end on the balance beam. After, we flipped on the bars. Then I went to the beam and walked backwards and turned to jump. I went to the start and went jumping away like a kangaroo in the air. Then I went with the other coach and done an obstacle course of the ENTIRE gym.  My favourite part was the foam pit  because I jumped off from the plank and the foam was SOOO soft and squishy. My other favourite was the trampoline because I jumped SOOO high. Then for the big finish. My class and the other class(which was lower than us) raced each other in the foam pit. A student from the lower class had beaten me!  After that we learned how to do handstands. After all the students' races we went back to our school, all tired and thirsty. We went and played . After that we got lunch. I felt really happy but tired! That was our last session in the Tristar gym and I was going to miss it because it really cool and cold. Not like that really sunny weather we had to walk in!

Now it's time for the Five W's and one H

What we did: Gymnastics- (some moves are the handstands, cartwheels and backwards rolls, etc)

Where was it: Keith hay park, Next to Cameron pools

How we got there: By walking in a REALLY hot condition and in REALLY warm clothes

Who we were walking with and who were the coaches: With my class Hauraki and Room Six(Yr 3's). The coaches were Coach Moe, Coach Reagan,  and two other coaches that's name I don't remember

Why we done Gymnastics: So we can learn how to be fit in a fun way

Summer Learning Journey, Task 2

My next task was to   think critically.

In the capital of Spain, which is Madrid,  there is a very common activity called ''bullfighting''.
This activity is violent which is why some people in Spain doesn't support doing it or do it. Although some people do this. Bullfighting is when a man or a woman has a red blanket and under that there is a knife and so you stab it on the bull. I know it's s sad, if I were in Spain I wouldn't do it, in fact I would want it banned because so Bulls won't get extinct and and so they can help carry heavy stuff that we can't carry with their strength.

Here is a photo of bullfighting(I know, pretty scary, huh?)

Summer Learning Journey, Task 1

                           Archive activity:
                       Chile

5 reasons why I picked this country and would like to visit it....
  • Spanish seems like an interesting language
  • Chilean rodeo seems cool and different to other sports
  • They have 14 national holidays to celebrate
  • The Andean condor bird sounds unusual
  • The flag looks simple but also good
My task was to pick a country and to blog it. There was a link to the country so you can find information. Here is a photo of the information I found about Chile

3 facts about Chile
  • The largest pool in the world is in Chile
  • There are some penguins in Chile
  • The official name for Chile is Republic of Chile
